No more spoofies from China

On popular demand: We are providing access to the Gnutella and Zepp networks and have no control over the content of those networks. Anyone can share what they want as long as it is within the limits of the law. The Zepp network is rather clean, the Gnutella network is less, there are more spoof files, fake files, bogus files, virusses. Those mainly come from certain parts of the world. Zultrax P2P will no longer download any file over Gnutella coming from China, Russia or Turkey. Users from these countries are still more than welcome to use Zultrax P2P and all they share will be shared over Zepp. (Zepp is not vulnerable for mass-spoofing). Normal users from these countries will suffer no negative impact by this measure. A few other countries are likely to be put on the no-thanks-nothing-from-you list as well.

Second Life Index is a website bringing you an uncensored overview of locations to visit in the on-line virtual world Second Life. We have nothing to do with Second Life Index besides that we helped the lady who runs the site getting her site on-line and getting it all working. It looks all ready pretty nice Mrs. Chun, success!!!
We are not too enthusiastic about Second Life but we like to read Mrs. Chun's writings. She'll do some text editting on our site in return for our help (yes we know, that surelly won't harm us, we are software developers not linguists).

Zultrax P2P 4.36

Zultrax P2P keeps on developing, with the growth of the network we find it time to go more into detail and also fix minor annoyances, problems and shortcomings. We'll surprise you soon with spectacular new functionality but the new 4.36 version is the same you already had... just a bit better. Still fully worth the few seconds an upgrade takes.

GrabJPG 2.11

You won't find much new in the user interface of the newest GrabJPG, we've been busy under the hood. Making our algorithms faster and smarter, trying to find less search results you are not looking for and more of those you are looking for. GrabJPG now finds more than ever before and finds it faster. When you use an older version, GrabJPG 2.11 is surely worth the upgrade. And as always, upgrades are free of charge.

Fighting spam

We find that on file sharing networks anyone should share what they want as far as that is within the law of the country one is in. It is not our task to try to block or filter out content, and even if we would do so, we couldn't. However massive loads of spoof/spam files are being spread over the Gnutella network. Some just advertisment which is of course ok, but also silly attempts to get people tricked into a virus or so. The new 4.36 version of Zultrax P2P monitors for suspucious behaviour of that kind and throws out search results that are obviously not what they pretend to be.
