File sharing
P2P file sharing is a technology that allows you to share certain files on your computer with others and download files shared by others. Worldwide and with no restrictions. Information can be shared uncensored, direct and by anyone.
P2P stands for peer to peer. This means that communications go directly from one participant to another without interference of any central server. When someone downloads a file it comes directly from some one else's hard disk. P2P technology is used in networks for various purposes amongst which file sharing.
Gnutella is often seen as the first P2P file sharing network, dating from 1999. Since that time new networks emerged and new technology and concepts were introduced. Zultrax dates from 2002, starting on Gnutella and since 2004 also supporting its own ZEPP network.
Modern p2p file sharing technology puts a lot of emphasize on getting files simultaneous from multiple sources and more and more on privacy protection. Besides the possibility to communicate fully free one gets more and more also ways to do that without someone looking over the shoulder. With ZEPP Zultrax supports an ever evolving state of the art network focusing on speed and privacy. Trying to protect privacy means more than only an encrypted network.

Implications
The young technology of p2p file sharing faces hard opposition from those who control traditional flows of information: record companies, dictatorial regimes, George W. Bush and others. Some for financial reasons, other because of politics, power, fear for the unknown or other reasons.
What's right and what's wrong? We don't know. This site is made by programmers and is about a piece of software, not about freedom of speech, copyright laws and the need of censorship.
